The safeguarding policy was signed and is now displayed in the porch. The PCC were pleased to have Emma back after her surgery and will send formal thanks to all those minsters who covered services. It was agreed that W.G. Clay would undertake the work to remove the step into the churchyard and grade the path to the church, renovating the edges and resurfacing it as well at a cost of £5,800. It was hoped that a grant from the Stone Pit charity would cover some of the costs. A number of fabric repairs have been carried out by Chris and Brian following the Quinquennial inspection. It was decided that the old Methodist cross would be blessed at the Benefice Celebration service on the 3rd September. Thanks were expressed to Paul Walton for organising the Moonrakers concert and to Shelia and all who helped with the Open Gardens. Our finances are in good shape with a number of successful fundraising events and Brian’s sponsored walk which means that we were able to approve the payment of the 50% parish share that is needed by the end of June to receive the rebate from the diocese.
