A wonderful evening of gentle jazz was enjoyed by everyone who came to hear the Roger Simmonds Trio at St Giles’, Horspath on 11th July. Roger, formerly Head of Music at Wheatley Park & a well-known local musician, lead this trio of professional musicians of piano, bass and drums. Also making a guest appearance on the violin was Michael Simmonds, who is a full-time professional player that plays at jazz & folk festivals all over the world. With the church lit to stun us all, the music was a real treat. A grand total of £1,100 was raised for St Giles. Thank you to everyone who came, the musicians for such a memorable night and to David for organising the event with Charles.
