Many congratulations and best wishes go to Lulu Belcher who celebrated her 100th Birthday this week on 29th April with a party in St Mary’s Church. Friends of the W.I. laid on a magnificent spread of sandwiches and cakes and a packed church toasted Lulu on her birthday. Speeches from Shirley Royal and Lulu’s son John thanked her for being a truly inspiring person and the vicar, Emma presented her with a basket of flowers with words of admiration and gratitude for her service to others over the years. Lulu, in her own special way, went round everyone who came, giving them a word of friendship and thanks. No one could believe that she was her actual age as she beamed and blossomed in the delight of the event.
